Evaluation question one
In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

One of the forms and conventions I have challenged in my media product is the opening image which is an establishing shot. It shows the setting where the femails character and the environment around her. You can see that she is in a field walking her dog, it doesn't look like much is around her. The music which you can here makes you feel insecure, especially along with yeh imagery which is a White femail and a dog. The opening sequence to gone girl on "the art of the title" supports my reasoning for an establishing shot as they use both music and establishing shot to create feelings of unease.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My opening sequence targets people ranging from the age of 12-25 it is a horror so it may not be appealing to people younger than 12. It may appeal to different social groups as some may prefer "scary" films. My opening sequence offers an elements of fear and suspense, to give just a short taster of how the rest of the film will commence.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

The types of media institution which would distribute my media product are once that stereotypically distribute horror films. "Lionsgate films" would be likely to distribute my media as they are a company which typically distributes horror films. Another institute would be "hammer films" they also specify in distributing British horror films.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

The audience for my media product would be 12-25 year olds. I would target this age group as it maybe frightening for people under the age of 12, it may also psychologically scare them. I have also mentioned the limit would be 25 as I feel people above this age may find it imature and see it as soft horror.

Evaluation question five 

How did you attract/address your audience? 

I attracted my audience through the use of the actors whom played the characters. The female character is 16 this will appeal to the younger generations as it is relatable because of her age, also the dog is invited as people whom are in the age bracket often have lots of love for animals. In addition thigh the treatment and setting. The treatment adds gloom to it and the setting allows it to be easily applicable to everyday life.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

While doing my media product I have learnt about blogspot. A websight where you can create blogs. I have learnt how to maintain it and use it to type up my coursework. Another type of technology I learnt how to use is movie plus, I grasped how to upload film clips and edit them. This includes adding titles merging clips together, adding treatment and adding sounds. I also learnt how're use the schools cameras and how to use the equipment to upload it to my computer to then edit. Finally I learnt how to use YouTube and how to upload things straight from movie plus.
